Castagnata Christmas Market

In Italy, it is a tradition to roast chestnuts in the fall. There is even a traditional social event, called La Castagnata, which is something the Italo-Canadian Club of Kingston hosts each year, welcoming members and guests to enjoy freshly roasted chestnuts while sipping on wine and socializing with family and friends.

Christmas Carolers from the award-winning Greater Kingston Chorus will be making appearances between 12pm-2pm. 🎵

Freshly roasted chestnuts will be available for purchase and eating in the Saletta from 1pm-3pm. (Free to ICC Members. Price TBD for non-members.) The bar will be open during this time, offering specialty Christmas Cocktails (and regular bar staples), and a complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate station will be set-up for anyone to enjoy all day.

Last year, we combined this annual event with a Christmas Market and it was a success, so we're doing it again!

We have 8 different flavours of hot cocoa bombs; individually wrapped, boxes of 4 or with a Christmas mug! We also have candy smashers! They are individually wrapped and come with their own hammers! 🍫 🔨

• Painted Palette Artworks: I am a self-taught watercolour artist and I specialize in creating unique, original bookmarks, greeting cards, and paintings of various sizes. My art is colourful, whimsical, and is all about adding joy to your life. 🖼️

• Chained Essentials: I am a local Chainmaille artist specializing in hand-woven jewelry crafted from aluminum and stainless steel. I offer a diverse range of products, including earrings, pendants, bracelets, and more. ⛓️

• HONIGMANN APIARIES: Local honey. Family-operated company offering a variety of delicious Kingstonian honey, original pure beeswax candles and honey skin care.

• VMR Soap: We sell homemade bath and body products ranging from soap, body balms to epsom salts and bath teas.

• Aidan Ignatius Arts: Aidan has been a self taught creator his entire life. Aidan can draw, paint, sew, embrioder, bead, make jewlery, and just about anything else he puts his mind to. He is inspired by natural and spiritual elements. He loves jewel tones and metalics.

• Beaded by Ari: High Quality Gemstone Bracelets made on stretchy and durable string. Local 11 year old, Ari, and her Mom are partnered together and donate a portion of proceeds to local charities and causes such as Hate Has No Home Here, Motionball in support of Special Olympics, and also the Inclusive Play Project. Their Items make thoughtful gifts for people of all ages, and their selection is impressively large. They will make custom designs including a name, initial, pet name, name of a lake you frequent or various other possible ideas. They believe in their product and will restring for free if one of their bracelets happens to break, they also care about making sure you are happy, so will resize an in stock design to your liking as well. ⚠️ Caution, It’s difficult not to begin a collection of Beaded by Ari once you own one 😃
